Our Walks

I offer fun and safe group walks for your dog.  Our walks last at least an hour from arriving at the walk location, unless the weather conditions are not suitable (eg in hot weather walks may be cut short), so your dog will be with me for more than just one hour., often 2 hours or more!

Selection process - not every dog will make it!

I firmly believe that each and every dog deserves the best experience and that means that some dogs are not suited to our group walks and I put happiness and safety before profit.  Before any dog is accepted into our group they are assessed by myself and trialled for compatability with the other dogs.  This policy ensures the happiness and of everyone and reduces the chances of any aggression within the group.

dogs around van transport

Transport

Your dog's safety, comfort and happiness is my priority and this includes travel to the walk, I have a car-derived van, with windows, so that every dog has light and a view out.  The van is crated and the dogs are separated during travel, even the friendliest dog can get tetchy when travelling to a walk, so, unless they live together,  separation is essential.  I am insured to transport dogs for short distances.

Off or on lead walking

It is lovely to let a dog run free off the lead, but this is not always a safe option.  Before any dog is let off lead, their recall is assessed and it must be good enough to call them away from danger - dogs running off can get into trouble with aggressive dogs, be stolen or chase livestock.   Even if you ask for your dog to be allowed off lead, this will be at our own descretion.  If you request your dog is kept on lead, then of course this will be adhered to and be your choice.

Hot Weather policy

My vehicle is air conditioned and each crate has a fan attached, there are also three thermometers that send alerts to my phone, to ensure that the dogs are kept comfortable and safe during hot weather.  On each walk I carry water and bowls for refreshment during the walk.   In the summer, I assess the heat for suitabilty of walking, some dogs can manage heat better than others, so I make decisions based on each dog, if it gets to over 26 degrees then all walks will be cancelled and home visits offered instead,  for their safety and wellbeing.

Report Cards

When you put your trust in someone else to walk your dog, it is nice to know how their walk went and maybe see some pictures.  After every walk, we will send you a report card to let you know how things went.  An example of a report card is shown here.
